Mrs. Pate
Hi! My name is Tricia Pate and I am so HAPPY to be returning to Bridge Point after 16 years. I opened BPE with Linda Rose and had the privilege of teaching PE here for 3 years before my husband was transferred. We moved to Arizona where I became an active volunteer, a classroom coordinator, PTO president and CEF representative. I totally emersed myself in education from the parent's perspective. So THANK YOU to all of you who volunteer, we couldn't do it without YOU! We were in Arizona for 4 years before being transferred to the DFW area, where we made Southlake our new home. I went back to teaching and taught PE for 10 wonderful years in Southlake Carroll before being transferred to our true home...Austin!
My husband, Robert, and I have one AMAZING daughter, Ashlyn. She attended Kindergarten here at Bridge Point and continues to have a special relationship with her teacher, Mrs. McDonald. Just one of the reasons I love BPE! Ashlyn recently graduated from Texas State University, moved home and is taking a couple classes before applying to nursing school. We also have two playful dogs, Daisy and Bear, a precious cat, Belle, (who fetches better than any of our dogs). We love the outdoors and try to spend as much time as we can on the lake or hiking one of Austin's incredible trails. Look for us if you are ever at City Park, it's Bear's favorite! When I'm not on the lake or hiking, I enjoy working in my yard and building rustic furniture...this allows me to be creative and practice my problem solving skills! I also LOVE traveling! Every summer, my Mom, Ashlyn and I take a three generations girl's trip. It has become a very special tradition that we look forward to each year! Another thing I am looking forward too is teaching at BPE again! My bachelor's and master's are both from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State). I knew then that my passion was teaching elementary, specifically physical education! After 23 years, I still have an enthusiasm and love for teaching! This year will be very exciting because I will be job sharing with Linda Rose and getting the opportunity to teach with Kathy Dean who was hired when we moved. I can't think of anything better for your children! We will do our best to keep them active, challenged and engaged... But most of all safe, loved and having FUN!!! |
